Ã…AC PnP Commitment
Ã…AC Microtec presents a dedicated forum for Plug-and-Play (PnP) hardware and software for mission critical applications
Ã…AC has been working with interoperable Plug-and-Play (PnP) capable complex systems since 2005 with the ambition to reduce life cycle cost (LCC) through drastically reduced assembly, integration, and testing/verfication (AIT/V) procedures by using self describing subsystems.
Since 2007, Ã…AC is a proud development partner to the U.S. Air Force (USAF) for hardware and software based on the Space Plug-and-Play Avionics, SPA standard. The SPA standard was originally developed by the Space Vehicle Directorate of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).
The SPA standard is a flexible framework that have implications and uses to many other areas than space.![]()
This forum collects information on Plug-and-Play technologies and products, especially focusing on SPA and provides free-of-charge development tools, soft core IP for your own try out and developments and space proven, mission critical fault tolerant implementations for aerospace, medical, and nuclear industrial applications.

Ã…AC maintains state-of-the-art fault tolerant versions of open source soft core processors available from open cores, the OpenRISC 1200-FT (fault tolerant) and the PIC16F84-FT (fault tolerant).
In addition, Ã…AC provides fault tolerant versions of I2C, USB 1.1, SpaceWire, UART 16550A, Ethernet 10/100, CAN 2.0B, and other IP.
Ã…AC is the premier industrial partner for open source fault tolerant IP and PnP architectures.
