Ã…AC is supporting SourceBoost Technologies's Boost C compiler for PIC16. The free version supports up to 2,000 words program memory (out of the 4,000 words available on the PIC16-FT core). The standard version is the cheapest supporting full functionality of the PIC16-FT, however, the Pro version is the only one allowed for commercial purposes. You can find the licensing scheme here. The SourceBoost download package is approx 19 MB in size to download.

In order to compile with BoostC the user is required to apply a patch provided with the nanoRTUâ„¢ 200 series products and follow the instructions in the provided manual for the Ã…AC product. It will not work without this patch and special procedures described in the manual.
