PnP power subsystem
QuadSat-PnPâ„¢ is a premier and unique satellite architecture built on the latest Plug-and-Play (PnP) developments and feature the only existing fully plug-and-play compatible power subsystem.
A rapid configurable power subsystem is a key technology to drastically reduce integration times and lower cost. It is of the greatest importance that the power subsystem is designed in a way that allows Virtual System/Satellite Integration (VSI) and hence can minimize the integration overhead.
Ã…AC Microtec is the first in the world to introduce a full set of Plug-and-Play and Virtual System Integration fault tolerant components for unmanned vehicles (e.g. satellites, UAV) including on-board computers (OBC/OBDH), remote terminal units (RTU), applique sensor interface modules (ASIM), main power distribution (MPDU), and locally distributed power controllers. Integration of Ã…AC unmanned vehicle components is typically done in minutes and provides short circuit and radiation protection (Latch-up current limiters, LCL).
Ã…AC provides many different power and data network distribution products depending on the need, from slow rate SPA-1 (I2C) to fast USB and SpaceWire modules. The Distributed Power Control Units (DPCU) are all equipped with LCL protection and are automatically detected by the Plug-and-Play compatible on-board computer (OBC) which automatically will probe the user ports and detect any attached devices. The OBC can also switch on additional power from the main power distribution unit (MPDU) if that is requested by a attached device.
Additional information the products and the "F1" satellite bus can be found on the Ã…AC products page.
